A Study on Personality Traits of the Sportswomen

Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to find out the personality traits of the sportswomen. Guilford Inventory Test, revised and standardized to fit Koreans, has given to 217 players from girls£§middle and high school and college in Seoul from June 1, 1969 to Septmber 27, 1969 to test the personality traits of the sportswomen.
The results are summarized as follows:
1. General personality traits of the sportswomen.
The personaloity traits of the sportswomen show comparatively social extraversion, thinking extraversion, and less depreession; and show masculinity on the other.
2. The personality traits of the sportswomen by sports.
1) Individual sports: The personality traits of the spotrswomen show comparatively social extraversion, thinking extraversion, Rhathymia,and less deprssion:and show ascendancy, agreeableness on the other.
2) Individual-team sports: The personality traits of the sportswomen show comparatively social extraversion, thinking extraversion, Rhathymia, and less depression.
3) Team sports: The personality traits of the sportswomen show comparatively social extraversion, thonking extraversion, and less depression; and show high masculinity; but show low general activity, ascendancy, and cooperativeness.
3. The personality traits of the sportswomen by events
1) The personality traits of the sportswomen show almost social extraversion, thinking extraversion, Rhathymia, and less depression.
2) Fencing players show high Rhathymia,gaiety,and the thighest masculinity
3) Gymnastics and handball players show low personality traits compared with other players.
4) The personality traits of the sportswomen show comparatively low general activity, ascendancy, agreeableness, cooperativeness,and lack of inferiority.
